Premier League: Burnley vs Tottenham preview

Tottenham are hoping to end a terrible run when they visit Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday, but the Clarets also have a lot to play for because if they beat the Spurs they can leapfrog them in the Premier League table. Tottenham won the reverse fixture 5-0, Harry Kane scored two goals and Lucas Moura, Son Heung-Min and Moussa Sissoko added the other three. Tottenham have won four of the last six direct matches, while Burnley have won just one.

Burnley are undefeated in their last six Premier League matches and have won four of them. During this streak they defeated Leicester and Manchester United and drew 0-0 with Arsenal, while last weekend they recorded a goalless draw at Newcastle. They have conceded just one goal in their last five Premier League matches and are just four points behind fifth-placed Manchester United in the league table. Ben Gibson, Ashley Barnes, Matthew Lowton and Johann Gudmundsson are injured and won't be in the squad for this match.

Tottenham are going through a terrible period, they had lost three consecutive matches in all competitions before this week and on Wednesday they got knocked out of the FA Cup as they lost on penalties against Norwich. In the Premier League they dropped to seventh place after having lost the last two matches, and if they lose at Burnley they can even drop into the second half of the league table. Son Heung-Min, Harry Kane, Moussa Sissoko and Juan Foyth are all injured, but Jose Mourinho could count on first-choice goalkeeper Hugo Lloris again as the Frenchman could recover from injury in time for this match.

Probable line-ups:

Burnley: Pope - Bardsley, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor - Hendrick, Westwood, Cork, McNeil - Wood, Rodriguez

Tottenham: Lloris - Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Davies - Alli, Winks, Lo Celso - Bergwijn, Moura, Lamela

My prediction:

Burnley are very strong and Tottenham have been in all sorts of trouble lately, so I think we'll see a 1-0 victory for the Clarets.
