Manchester United host Bournemouth on Tuesday for the last match of the Premier League fixture as the match was postponed on Sunday due to a bomb threat at Old Trafford. Unfortunately for the Red Devils the last Champions League spot is now out of reach as Manchester City secured that position with a 1-1 draw at Swansea. However, Man United still have something to fight for, they need at least one point in order to climb above Southampton in fifth place. The reverse fixture in December was one of the many disappointing matches for Man United, Bournemouth beat them 2-1 on that occasion.
Manchester United end a disappointing season with a big question mark over Louis Van Gaal's future at the club. Clinching a Champions League spot might have saved his job, but with that objective out of reach things could get complicated for the Dutch manager as the season comes to an end. They can still end the season on a positive note at Old Trafford, but a negative result will surely add more fuel to an already open fire of discontent among the club supporters. Marouane Fellaini is suspended for this match, while Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Luke Shaw are still injured.
Bournemouth have secured their objective for this season, they will be playing Premier League football next term. A good result at Old Trafford could improve their final league position, currently 16th, which will result in an improved financial package from the TV rights. But they have not won a match since April 9th, when they edged past already doomed Aston Villa. They have done a good job away from home this season though, with 6 matches won, 4 drawn and 8 lost. Tyrone Mings, Sylvain Distin and Adam Smith remain sidelined for the visitors.
Probable line-ups:
Man United: De Gea - Fosu-Mensah, Smalling, Blind, Borthwick-Jackson - Carrick - Lingard, Rooney, Mata, Martial - Rashford
Bournemouth: Federici - Francis, Elphick, Cook, Daniels - Ritchie, Surman, Arter, Pugh - King, Wilson
My prediction: Manchester United to win 3-1.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
Man United win - 1.62 Draw - 4.50 Bournemouth win - 5.50

The most interesting thing in that one was that the game have been postponed and played next day or the day after, I forgot when exactly. Another bad season for United despite the FA CUP have been won a week after that game. With no real challenge in that one United won it 3-1.

It was not bad ending of the season for the Red Devils. This wont be remembered as the season from the dreams, but they will have some good things from it.They brought Martial and Rushford to the first team, and that is big treasure for them. This duo can bring lot of trophies to the Old Trafford.

Its last game of the season, solid season for Bournemouth and bad season for Manchester United, and this last game will be without pressure on both sides so we can expect a lot of goals. I think this will be last game for Van Gaal , with a lot of investment in transfer windows he didnt manage to do nothing this year so...

It is last game of the season. Manchester United failed to reach Champions League which will cost them 200 million euros based on their contract with Adidas. Luis Van Gaal might be leading United for the last time, and for sure he will be aiming to win tonight, eventho game has point, it is more like a friendly. Premier...

Premier League is not the same without United being strong. Eventho I am Arsenal fan, I would like to see both teams on top in near future.

Surprising home win in their first match this season. Although Manchester has a lot of injured players, I expect to get revenge for the defeat. Rojo, Januzaj, Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin, Darmian are injured and Fellaini is suspended. Reading the British newspaper after bomb threat and postponed match, Manchester administration has decided to pay for transport fans of away team. Nice gesture. :)
