Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under more and more pressure after his side lost yet another match, 1-0 at Newcastle United on Sunday evening. That result leaves the Red Devils down in 12th position in the Premier League table, with just nine points collected after eight matches. Manchester United have won just two of their eight league matches this season, and that's their worst start to a campaign in the last 30 years. The objective for the season is to finish in the fop four, but it seems highly unlikely with this kind of form.
"We've given ourselves a big, big uphill challenge to get among the top four but it's tight and we need to get a run together," Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said after Sunday's defeat. "It will take however long it will have to take. It's a journey we've started on and the culture is getting there. I can't give you any time but we're getting there. We've come together and discussed the direction we're going. If you only work on sunny days, you'll never get to your destination. We'll have these days, but we know where we want to get to."
The manager will have some time to sort things out as there's an international break coming up, the next official match for Manchester United is on October 19. However, that match will be an extremely tough one as the Red Devils host undefeated Premier League leaders Liverpool at Old Trafford. "We don't create enough chances to win a game of football," Solskjaer added. "Luckily for us it's now the international break. We will sit down, hopefully we'll get some players back, and we will evaluate what's gone on over these eight games."
"It's my responsibility," the Man United manager added. "I need to sort their heads out. Young boys lacking confidence - they need some help from experienced players and staff. Confidence is a big thing in players, and only performances and results will give you confidence. At the moment, when there is a decision to be made, the players don't do it instinctively. That's what we've been working on, so it's the perfect time for the international break."
Manchester United are 9/2 at William Hill to finish inside the Premier League top four this season.

It's quite funny how this news is set right next to that of Giampaolo sacking at Milan...quite telling ;) There's a lot of similarities between Man United and Milan of how poorly those great clubs have been run by their high floors management in the past decade or so...and both struggling in their respective leagues big...

But at least United giving Solskjaer time despite most of the fans would want him out right now...it's quite possible he'd share Giampaolo's fate as well though.
