Wolfsburg are the only German team left in the Europa League and they face a tough test in the last sixteen against Italian side Inter Milan. The two sides meet on Thursday in the first leg of their last-16 tie. Italy have no less than five teams left at this stage of the competition.
Wolfsburg have faced Italian opponents three times before and have never managed to win, they lost twice and secured a 2-2 draw against AC Milan. Striker Aaron Hunt will be unavailable for the home side, but Dutch forward Bas Dost will play and look to add to his impressive 13-goal tally in 2015.
Midfielder Maximilian Arnold is doubtful due to a back complaint, while former Chelsea players Kevin de Bruyne and Andre Schurrle should make the starting line up. Inter coach Roberto Mancini is not yet sure of Yuto Nagatomo's fitness as the full back is struggling with a thigh problem. Inter have snatched five wins out of their previous 16 trips to Germany, most notably the 3-2 success at Bayern Munich in 2011.
Probable line-ups:
Wolfsburg: Benaglio - Trasch, Naldo, Knoche, Rodriguez - Gustavo, Guilavogui - Vieirinha, De Bruyne, Schurrle - Dost
Inter: Handanovic - Santon, Ranocchia, Juan, D'Ambrosio - Guarin, Medel, Shaqiri, Kovacic - Palacio, Icardi
My prediction: 1-1 draw.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
Wolfsburg win - 7/10 Draw - 3/1 Inter win - 9/2

Very interesting game, Wolfsburg spending big lately and they are the favourites in this matcup I think. Inter is a huge name on the european football scene and they never have to be underestimated, so I also expect many goals like seculla and hope to be an entertainer.

In this game I expect many goals. Wolfsburg have very good team this year and their strikers are in very good form and also they are scoring a lot of goals lately. On the other side Inter is growing their form lately and I'm pretty sure that they will make this game very difficult for Wolfsburg, but anyway I predict that...

Germans versus Italians. Dieter Hecking versus Roberto Mancini. This is gonna be huge one. As most people think - huge favourites here is Wolfsburg. And they ain't wrong. Germans versus Italians. Dieter Hecking versus Roberto Mancini. This is gonna be huge one. As most people think - huge favourites here is Wolfsburg. And they ain't wrong. Wolfsburg is curently only team that can do anything to Bayern in Bundesliga. Inter on the other hand is having a really bad season. Shaqiri and Icardi can't do it all by themselfs. Podolski also came during winter break, but failed to do anything significant. Wolfsburg tho signed Andre Schuerrle from Chelsea for a record transfer fee, and he is already paying out. Based on curent forms, I will have to say that Wolfsburg is huge favourite in this one, at least for this game one. Expecting a lot of goals. My prediction: 4:1 for Wolfsburg, with it being draw at some point, Man of the match: Kevin de Bruyne
