Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers seems well aware that his future at the club is in doubt after Steven Gerrard's final match for the Reds ended in a devastating defeat. Liverpool were thrashed 6-1 at Stoke on the last day of the Premier League season and finished sixth. The Reds have won just two of their last nine games.
"I've always said if the owners want me to go, then I go," Rodgers said. "For everybody connected with Liverpool, we are all embarrassed by that result." It was the first time in 52 years that Liverpool had let in six goals in the league. Rodgers believes he still has "a lot to offer the club", despite winning no trophies during his three years at the helm. They have qualified for the Europa League this season but they will have to go through two preliminary rounds before the group stage.
"A lot has happened this year which has made the job difficult," added Rodgers. "Last season, when things were working well, we had the support of everyone but performances like today do not help that and I fully understand that. The fans deserve an apology. They were angry at half-time - and rightly so - because that was awful, absolutely awful. They have every right to be angry and frustrated and of course I take full responsibility for that as the manager."
You can bet on the future manager of Liverpool at William Hill, here are the odds on who will be their manager at the start of next season:
Brendan Rodgers - 1.40 Jurgen Klopp - 4.50 Ronald Koeman - 7.00 Frank De Boer - 11.00 Rafael Benitez - 17.00

That was a very bad day for all Liverpool supporters. I can not remember any bad first half of any team, like Liverpool. I am on Brandon side, for me, he is a good manager, and he could be for Liverpool like a Wenger for Arsenal.. Manager on the long run.

Does anyone have some info ,who is in the race to replace Brendan? This is big time for Liverpool. They have lost a legend of the club-Steven Gerrard and they will probably be without manager. Chiefs of the club must make some very smart moves if they want trophies in the near future.

Brendan Rogers is great manager but for the smaller club. We saw how great he was with Swansea, he lead them to the Premier League and that was great job for him, but now in Liverpool he just can't figure it out. I think Brendan Rogers is great coach but bad manager. He spend lot of money last summer and bought players that show nothing this season. Lovren, Balotelli, Markovic. Lallana and others are good players, but they can't handle such a pressure and play good every game. They had disappointing season. On the other hand, Rogers...

On the other hand, Rogers managed to find best formation and succeed to secure place in Europa league. We will see what is going to happen. I think Rogers will stay manager one more year.

I think Brendan Rogers is a good manager, despite this shameful loss on the last day in Premier League. Liverpool have much claims to be called the best in England but nothing in their management and transfers for the past 20 years don't prove that they are amongst the leading clubs in the country. They left their top players to run away and in the same time doesn't spend huge amounts for players like City, Chelsea or even United. And that's not a manager's fault I think, it's an issue with that all management of the club. Something have to be changed but I'm not sure that this have to be at the manager position.

If I'm a Liverpool's owner I would break the deal with him long time ago. There are many "weak" managers in football, but Brendan Rodgers is the special one among them. I really don't see why they kept him so long, and in this last game against Stoke that "turns back in their heads". All teams are loosing, but when you...

I really don't see why they kept him so long, and in this last game against Stoke that "turns back in their heads". All teams are loosing, but when you get "demolished" like they were, there something sooo soo wrong in your staff. I hope that Liverpool will sign some new and good manager, and it will not be so hard to find better one from Rodgers.

Isn't he ashamed? I know that lot of money is on the line if they fire him, instead of him resigning from manager position, but come on! You wasted 100 million euros last summer and all you did is 6th place? I mean wasted because non of these signings showed anything worth mentioning. Team needs another huge reconstruction,...

You wasted 100 million euros last summer and all you did is 6th place? I mean wasted because non of these signings showed anything worth mentioning. Team needs another huge reconstruction, another 100 millions. And Raheem Sterling wants to leave club, Sturridge suffers from injures a lot, Coutinho might be looking to move aswell. Sad years for Liverpool fans, just sad.
