Juventus legendary midfielder Andrea Pirlo is in talks with Major League Soccer side New York City FC, according to BBC Sport. The two parties have not yet reached an agreement, but if the deal does go through Pirlo could play alongside Frank Lampard on July 12th when New York City face Toronto FC in the MLS.
Pirlo still has one year left on his contract with Serie A champions Juventus but has informed the club he wants to be released. The 36-year-old playmaker was in the starting eleven when Juventus played the Champions League final on June 6, a match which Barcelona won 3-1.
The Italy international has won six Serie A titles with AC Milan and Juventus and also won the Champions League twice with AC Milan. He was also an integral part of the Italy squad that won the World Cup in 2006. He has made no less than 493 Serie A appearances, scoring 58 goals, while in the Champions League he has played 108 matches and scored 8 goals.
Juventus are 1.57 at Bet365 to win the Serie A next season.

This is the right move for Pirlo. Americans invests a lot in football and bringing these players have a positive influence on the development of sports in USA. I think this is a better move than he went to Asia. He had a perfect career and will be remembered as one of the best players at his position

I think that it is time for legend to end his football career. He played very very well during whole his career but I think that now it is time to end and not to go and be bad at some clubs just because of money. I think that he earned enough money and he don't need to do this but it is his choice but I am sure that this...

@h34dhunt3r, He spent four full seasons with Juventus mate and ten seasons with Milan. But I think he was the most important player of Juve for the biggest part of his spell there. So I guess will be right to call him legend of both clubs and of Italy of course. Wish him luck with the new club although they are pretty bad...

I think that you guys misspelled or something at the beggining of topic. He isn't really Juventus legendary midfielder, more like Milan or Italian. He has been in Juventus only for couple of years :). Anyway, another legend going away, eventho he could still serve in european football for one more year. But I guess he is kinda tired, so he is looking to settle down, earn some extra money and play in less tence league. He probably figured out that he can't give 100% next season, and got really tired by this one, where he played all possible matches outthere for Juve (league, champions league and national cup). Anyhow, was pleasure watching him doing his magic and good luck overseas Andrea!

He is real magician on the field, and I am very sad because we will not see him next season in Serie A. But he deserves to play football wherever he wants and I am really glad to see that he didn't end up hi career at this age. MLS will be better for one excellent player and I will support him and his NYC

It will be a reasonable and logical move for Andrea Pirlo to finish his career in US. There are many examples with other famous players that proved this to be good way for the finish of the career. Probably Pirlo is interested mostly from the financial offer than anything else but in the end it's nothing wrong with that.

I think that Pirlo should play one more year in Juventus. He have 36 years old but he is still in great form and I think that he can play next year on high level despite on his years. It will be great to see him another year in European football and Champions league but if he leave that is not the end and I will follow...

Like a very big Juventus fan I must say how sad I'm about this "rumors" in newspapers lately, even it was expected, like Alexa said, it's very sad to loose this kind of footballer and a man who clearly love football. Anyway, these news are just "rumors" and I really hope that Pirlo will stay at Juventus one more season,...

It was expected for this magician to leave Juventus.Everybody knew that was his last match in Europe. He still can play on top level, but he simply wants to play football without pressure. He won almost everything that one player can win.We all will remember him as one of the best midfielders we have ever watched.
