Newcastle have completed the signing of Anderlecht striker Aleksandar Mitrovic for 13 million pounds, but they will have to wait for a work permit. Mitrovic is a Serbian international, aged 20, and has signed a five-year contract with the Magpies. He is their second summer signing after Georginio Wijnaldum who joined the club from PSV for 14.5 million pounds.
"This is a club with a very big history and the fans are a big part of that. There will be pressure here, for sure, but I like pressure," Mitrovic said. "I also know about the famous players who have played for Newcastle United, like Alan Shearer, who is a hero of mine. I hope I can play like him for this club. It will be an honour."
Mitrovic has been quite prolific in the Belgian league, scoring 36 league goals in two years. Last season he was the league's top goal scorer with 20 goals. Anderlecht had bought him for 4.3 million pounds from Partizan Belgrade two years ago. He has also been linked with Chelsea after scoring against Arsenal in the Champions League last season. "We have fought off a lot of competition to secure a top young talent in Europe," Newcastle boss Steve McClaren said. "Aleksandar is someone who can develop with the team and someone who will help us to get to where we want to go."
Newcastle are 34.00 at Bet365 to finish inside the Premier League top six next season.

Aleksandar Mitrovic is one of the best young attackers in the world. He was amazing last year in Anderlecht. He scored a lot of goals and many of them was header. That is his strongest weapon. He need to improve his speed. I am sure that he will score at least 10 goals in Premier League this season. Also, he is first attacker...

It's a pretty serious amount for 20 years old youngster but most of the clubs in the Premier League overspend in the last year so I guess this is all ready something usual. Newcastle had a nightmare season and I guess that they expecting better with the new buys. Still 27,5 million pounds are too much money for only two...

When it comes to Anderlecht all football fans knows that they are "factory" for young and talented players. Aleksandar Mitrovic is great Serbian football player and he showed his qualities many times. Also, when it comes to Newcastle United, I've always believed in their transfer politics, they very rear make some bad signing....
