Premier League Transfer News: Liverpool looking for quality players
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers says he will be looking to add some quality players to his squad this summer instead of boosting the number of players he has under his command. Last summer the Reds brought in eight players but the manager says this time he will be looking to add just a couple of quality players to an already solid squad. Liverpool have already submitted an offer for Southampton captain Adam Lallana. "I don't want to put a figure on how many but I would rather have one or two absolute top players than seven that might not help us," Rodgers said. "It's about the quality. We can't be going into the Champions League this year with doubts about players. We have to be going in knowing what the players' capacity to play is and their capabilities." Rodgers also admitted that he wants to conclude the club's transfer business for the summer as soon as possible. "Ideally you would want to get things done beforehand but it is difficult because transfers are so complex," he said. "The World Cup does make it difficult but the club and ourselves have been preparing for quite a few months now so we will try and get the business done as early as we can." Reports claim Liverpool might be interested in Everton young talent Ross Barkley, but several other big clubs are said to be keen on the attacking midfielder. Here are the odds at SkyBet for a Barkley transfer this summer: Chelsea - 3/1 Manchester Utd - 4/1 Liverpool - 10/1 Arsenal - 14/1 Manchester City - 14/1
