Primera Liga: Barcelona confirm new signing
Barcelona have signed Borussia Monchengladbach young German goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen for an undisclosed fee. The new Barcelona goalie is just 22 years old and has already made his debut in the German national team. He is expected to be the club's number one next season as current goalkeepers Victor Valdes and Jose Manuel Pinto will both be leaving the club as their contracts run out. The signing came on the very same day as the appointment of new head coach Luis Henrique and star forward Lionel Messi signing a new contract with the club. Barcelona had been handed a 14-month transfer ban in April but the punishment is now on hold pending the appeal. The ban was enforced after Barcelona allegedly had broken the rules on signing international players under the age of 18. Along with the new goalkeeper Barcelona might welcome a few other new players this summer. They are said to be chasing Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie, he is 12/1 at SkyBet to join Barcelona this summer. Liverpool striker Luis Suarez also is 12/1 to move to Nou Camp while Wayne Rooney is 25/1 to complete a move to the Spanish giants this summer.
