Manchester City remain confident of signing Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala for around 32 million pounds. The 23-year-old French international came close to joining the Citizens in January as well. Mangala visited Manchester last month but the move was not completed at the time.
There was a clip on the Manchester City website appearing to show Mangala undergoing a medical, and describing him as "City's newest signing". But later the club claimed their website had been hacked and that the video was not intended to be shown publicly.
If the deal with eventually go through Mangala will become City's fourth summer signing after Brazilian midfielder Fernando joined from Porto, goalkeeper Willy Caballero moved from Malaga and Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna was signed on a free transfer.
Manchester City are 9/4 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title once again this season.
