Tottenham kick off their European campaign with a match against Italian side Inter Milan at Giuseppe Meazza Stadium on Tuesday, they are in the "group of death" alongside Barcelona and PSV Eindhoven. The two teams have last met in the round of sixteen of the UEFA Europa League in 2013 and back then Tottenham started with a comfortable 3-0 victory in London before fighting for qualification in extra-time and eventually getting it after a 4-1 defeat in Milan. Inter have been struggling since the start of the current season, head coach Luciano Spalletti seems unable to find the right formula at this point. Inter have lost two of their four Serie A matches so far this season, including last weekend's shock 1-0 defeat at home against newly-promoted Parma. Moreover, they have won just one of their four matches so far, and that was against Bologna, a team that has not scored a single goal in four matches. Sime Vrsaljko and Lautaro Martinez are the only injury concerns for the home side.
Tottenham had a much better start to the season than Inter, they had secured three consecutive wins at the start of the campaign, but now that winning streak has ended as they have recorded back-to-back defeats. First they lost 2-1 at Watford before the international break, and last weekend the Spurs were beaten 2-1 in London by league leaders Liverpool. Midfielder Dele Alli and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris are out injured, while Moussa Sissoko is a doubt ahead of Tuesday's match.
