Amaya Inc., parent company of PokerStars and Full Tilt, has made progress with its move into the daily fantasy sports market having acquired the Texas-based DFS operation Victiv, which it will rebrand as StarsDraft.
Victiv's current team of staff will manage Amaya's DFS business at StarsDraft.com in certain American markets and eventually via the PokerStars platform.
“StarsDraft will combine Victiv's innovative platform and experienced DFS team with Amaya's expansive consumer base and operational excellence as the world's preeminent online gaming brand,” said Matthew Primeaux, CEO of Victiv.
“We intend to capitalize on what we believe is strong crossover between online poker players and daily fantasy sports. PokerStars is the most-trusted brand in online gaming and brings unmatched security, customer support and technical infrastructure that we believe all players can rely on.”
StarsDraft.com will use Victiv software, which Amaya believes is what made the site popular since its September 2014 launch.
The rebranded site is expected to launch in time for the 2015-2016 NFL season.

Daily fantasy sports business is really on the rise in the last couple of years I think and the fact that one of the top companies on the gambling market like Amaya is interested to be part of it just proved that. I think this is a smart move from their side and probably will be a profitable new business for them.
