A new, incident-based product has hit the market thanks to sports and betting data provider Betrader under the name Soccer Roulette.
The product allows for improved player engagement and entertainment, prompting them to predict the next on-field incident to occur within a 90-second window during a live football match.
They are given over 40 chances to bet on a selection of 19 key match incidents, including a goal, yellow card, or penalty. The incidents go on a roulette table, where players need to think strategically about which event they believe will happen next, and therefore which event they wish to bet on.
This product includes real-money betting and immediate payouts, linking odds directly to a betting slip and bookmaker's account.
According to Carsten Koerl, chief executive officer of parent group Sportradar: “Soccer Roulette is an unprecedented new live betting product that combines the instant turnover potential of a casino game with all the excitement and drama of a live sporting event.
"Casino bettors will immediately be comfortable with the authentic design and feel of Soccer Roulette, whilst sportsbook punters will identify with the fast pace and nuances of soccer. Therefore, Soccer Roulette can bridge the gap between sportsbook and casino to generate a lucrative new revenue stream."
