Leading betting and gaming company, Betway
has just secured a deal with eSports. The recent agreement will enable the brand to sponsor the Swedish eSports organization, Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP), founded in 2002. This deal will also see Betway take on team content rights, as well as have its brand promoted on team shirts and throughout the NiP gaming facility.
The six-figure deal marks a milestone for the brand, making it the first of its kind to invest directly in a professional eSports organization. The feat follows its previous accomplishment of being one of the first operators to go live with an eSports microsite, just last year.
Anthony Werkman, director of marketing and operations for Betway, commented "We are delighted to join forces with Ninjas in Pyjamas, a team with an unrivalled history of success in eSports that is hugely popular the world over."
He added, "We have put a special focus on our eSports offering over the past few years by launching the first eSports specific microsite and content channels. Our agreement with NiP is yet another first and cements our position as the world's leading eSports bookmaker.”
Chief executive for NiP, Hicham Chahine, stated "We are thrilled with the opportunity to work closely with the leading eSports betting company and are certain the partnership will allow us to continue to grow our legacy to give our millions of fans around the world unforgettable experiences they will remember for a lifetime."
