Serie A champions Juventus are hoping to make a good run in the Coppa Italia this season, and their next hurdle is the quarter-final match against Roma at Allianz Stadium in Turin on Wednesday. The two sides have met in the league just over a week ago, the match was in Rome and Juventus won it 2-1 with early goals from Merih Demiral and Cristiano Ronaldo. Juventus have won three of the last six direct matches, while Roma have won two.
Juventus seem to be back in the dominant form that they have been showing for the past few years, they have won their last five Serie A matches and Cristiano Ronaldo has scored in each of the last seven. They are now back at the top of the table in the league, with a four-point advantage over second-placed Inter, but they would surely love to get their hands on the Italian Cup as well. Merih Demiral, Sami Khedira and Giorgio Chiellini are injured for the home side, while head coach Maurizio Sarri will probably be tempted to rest a few players ahead of next weekend's Serie A match at Napoli.
Roma have been in pretty good form lately, they have lost just two of their last eleven matches in all competitions and one of those two losses was against Juventus. Last week Roma secured a good 3-1 victory at Genoa in Serie A, moving up to fourth place in the league table. Roma have not won the Italian Cup since 2008, and that was also the last trophy that they managed to win. Nicolo Zaniolo, Davide Zappacosta and Devid Eugene Bouah are injured and won't be in the squad for this match, while midfielder Javier Pastore is doubtful.
Probable line-ups:
Juventus: Szczescny - Cuadrado, Bonucci, De Ligt, Sandro - Rabiot, Pjanic, Matuidi - Ramsey - Higuain, Ronaldo
Roma: Lopez - Spinazzola, Mancini, Smalling, Kolarov - Diawara, Veretout - Kluivert, Pellegrini, Perotti - Dzeko
My prediction:
I expect a hard-fought match between these two teams, one that could go to extra time. I think the first 90 minutes will end 1-1.
Here are the odds for the match at NetBet:
Juventus win - 1.52
Draw - 4.50
Roma win - 5.80

Juventus won away over the same opponent just a few days before that game so it wouldn't be a huge gamble to predict they'll do that again on home soil in the cup...
Juventus won away over the same opponent just a few days before that game so it wouldn't be a huge gamble to predict they'll do that again on home soil in the cup tie, this time even more convincingly must of been said. Ronaldo looks back at his best in the last month or two so this is of course a great news for the Old Lady fans, Juventus look like a proper team again.
