Manchester United are looking to extend their winning streak in all competitions to eight matches, they visit Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday evening. The two sides have met at Old Trafford in the Premier League in December and the match ended 2-2, with Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard on the score sheet for United. Shkordran Mustafi had opened the scoring for the Gunners, who also were lucky enough to benefit from an own-goal scored by Marcos Rojo. Overall, Manchester United have won three of the last six direct matches, while Arsenal collected just one victory.
Arsenal had pretty inconsistent performances and results during the past couple of months, they alternated great victories like the 4-2 against Tottenham at the beginning of December with disappointing defeats like the 1-0 at West Ham United in January. Last week the Gunners recovered with a solid performance and a good 2-0 victory at home against Chelsea, but there's no guarantee that they can repeat that display this week. Arsenal also lost Hector Bellerin to a long-term injury following that match, he joins Danny Welbeck and Rob Holding on the sideline. Henrikh Mkhitaryan has returned to training this week but this match might come too soon for him.
Manchester United are flying high under
new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Norwegian boss has led his team to seven wins out of seven matches and it seems he has a great chance to continue at Old Trafford after the end of the current season. Last weekend the Red Devils collected a 2-1 victory at home against Brighton, it was a tricky match for them but Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba made it easier by scoring in the first half. Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo and Marouane Fellaini are injured and won't be part of the squad for Friday's match, while Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw are injury doubts.
Probable line-ups:
Arsenal: Cech - Lichtsteiner, Mustafi, Sokratis, Monreal - Guendouzi, Xhaka - Willock, Ozil, Iwobi - Lacazette
Man United: Romero - Valencia, Bailly, Lindelof, Young - Fred, Pereira, Pogba - Mata, Lukaku, Sanchez
My prediction: 2-2 draw, these two sides seem evenly-match and this clash might be replayed.
