Defending Premier League champions Chelsea are looking to stop their goalless streak when they face Championship side Norway at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday in the replay of their FA Cup tie. On January 6 Norwich held firm for a goalless draw against the Blues, a result which earned them the right to play Chelsea once again. Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 14 matches against Norwich in all competitions. The last time Norwich defeated Chelsea was back in 1994 when they secured a 3-0 victory in the Premier League.
Chelsea have recorded three consecutive goalless draws in all competitions, a streak that started with the stalemate at Norwich at the beginning of the year. They have not won a match since the end of December and Saturday's goalless draw against Leicester dropped them to fourth place in the Premier League table. Manager Antonio Conte did rest some players in the first match against Norwich and he will probably do the same thing here, while new signing Ross Barkley might make his debut for his new club.
Norwich are on a good five-game unbeaten streak in all competitions and last weekend they won 1-0 at Bristol City to consolidate their 13th place in the Championship table. They have an outside chance to make the promotion play-offs but having a good FA Cup run is a very important target for the club. Louis Thompson, Steven Naismith and Matthew Jarvis are injured and won't be able to play on Wednesday wile manager Daniel Farke will most likely field the same eleven that held Chelsea to a goalless draw two weeks ago.
Probable line-ups:
Chelsea: Caballero - Ampadu, Luiz, Rudiger - Zappacosta, Drinkwater, Fabregas, Kenedy - Pedro, Batshuayi, Willian
Norwich: Gunn - Hanley, Zimmermann, Klose - Pinto, Tettey, Trybull, Lewis - Vrancic, Maddison, Murphy
My prediction: Chelsea to win 1-0.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
