Foreign Runners Taking Part in Breeder’s Cup
This year's Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championship races will welcome more than a couple of dozen runners from abroad. These horses are being brought in to take part in the $25m+ in purses up for grabs in Santa Anita on November 2nd – 3rd. European shippers have been successful in the Breeders' Cup, especially in terms of the turf races. It so happens that there are quite a few foreign horses that have a fairly good chance of winning and you can see for yourself by reviewing the odds in the majority of racebooks. European shippers have also taken the Turf by storm by securing wins in six of the past seven years and St Nicholas Abbey reigning victorious in 2011. He will return to the races this year to fight for his place at the top. Here's a look at the favorite overseas ponies for the Breeders' Cup: Marathon Fame and Glory (5-1) Filly & Mare Turf The Fugue (3-1) Juvenile Turf Dundonnell (4-1) Mile Excelebration (2-1)
