Fortuna Entertainment has recently struck a deal with the Romanian Football Federation in an effort to fortify its position in the newly regulated market. The Central European operator has latched on to a FOUR-YEAR deal, which names it the official sponsor of the country’s national
football. This arrangement comes after some purchases of Romanian businesses, including Hattrick Sports Group’s Casa Pariurilor, Bet Zone, Fortbet’s Bet Active Concept, Slot Arena, and Public Slots. The recent agreement also includes Fortuna’s launch of its platform at nationala.efortuna.ro. In doing so, Romanian bettors will gain access to a new variety of betting options on matchdays. The launch is expected to be concurrent with Romania’s game against Denmark next week, a qualifier for the 2018 World Cup. While the operator is looking to strengthen its position, this is clearly not its first encounter with Romania, as it already operates more than 750 betting shops, along with iGaming site, efortuna.ro. The company’s football SPONSORSHIP portfolio increases with this latest partnership, which already includes Slovakia’s Super League (Fortuna League), the Czech Football Association, and Polish club Legia Warsaw. Fortuna CEO, Per Widerstrom, commented, "Through this partnership we aim to contribute to the development of Romanian football, which is one of the most popular sports in Romania. Fortuna's belief is that football and all those involved in this field, including supporters, have the power to improve the sport and to maintain its integrity." Established in 2009, Fortuna serves as the largest betting operator in Central Europe. Source:
