The Daily Fantasy Sports industry is making little progress in the US while a new white label provider obtains licensing the UK Gambling Commission.
While California and Florida are making progress, Hawaii's Attorney General, Doug Chin, says that DFS gambling is illegal in the state.
"Gambling generally occurs under Hawaii law when a person stakes or risks something of value upon a game of chance or upon any future contingent event not under the person's control," said Chin. "The technology may have changed, but the vice has not."
Other states that have said no to DFS include Illinois, Nevada, New York, Texas, and Vermont.
On the other side of the pond, Malta-based fantasy sports provider Fanaments has received the approval the UK to launch its DFS B2B and white label solution featuring tournaments for mixed marital arts, PGA golf, NBA basketball and football.
Fanaments will provide white label solutions for operators interested in adding to their existing platforms, a full solution for new operators including back office, wallet, bonus and referral systems and the options for the company handle the game and technology aspects while the operator manages branding and marketing.
“The Fanaments team are excited to have productive conversations with parties who are looking for a flexible Daily Fantasy Sports product which they can tailor to their local markets by offering them a sector-leading system,” said, Bragi Egisson, chief executive officer of Fanaments.
