Leading supplier of Server Based Gaming (SBG) systems, Inspired, has recently partnered with the Jockey Club, a move which will enable the brand to launch a series of VIRTUAL sports games based on The Grand National, the National Hunt horse race, held on an annual basis near Liverpool. It also involves a deal with Aintree, making it the very first to appear daily in Inspired’s virtual horse racing content.
Both the Jockey Club, and Carm Productions will contribute to the creation of the games, which are slated to include prime elements from the event, such as the Canal Turn, The Chair, and the Becher’s Brook Jump. Additionally, there will be two annual features. The first will honor past winners via an annual Virtual Grand National Race of Champions, during which some of the best horses will run against each other. The second will see the horses taking part in the event, appearing in The Virtual Grand National. Users can look forward to 3D graphics to represent the virtual event, which will run just hours prior to the real event.
According to Aintree managing director, John Baker, "The Race of Champions will capture the imagination of the millions of people who love the Grand National and it will allow them to pore over the form, the odds and the achievements of these exceptional horses of yesteryear at their peak and those of today."
Baker added, "We found the opportunity to bring these greats 'back to life' simply irresistible and I hope The Race of Champions and The Virtual Grand National will become a big feature in the build up to the 'real' races every year from 2017."
Inspired’s CFO, Steve Rogers, stated, "Inspired's virtual races are seen in over 50,000 outlets worldwide and have become a key part of sports betting globally. The introduction of the most famous course, Aintree, into this virtual world enables us to offer our customers a unique product which will clearly differentiate us from other providers in the sector."
Rogers continued, "Seeing 41 virtual horses thundering around the famous Aintree course in Ultra HD with complete flexibility over camera positions promises to be something very special, and we are delighted to be a part of this collaborative project with Carm Productions and the Jockey Club."
