International Friendly: Germany vs Brazil preview

Two of the biggest nations in football will clash on Tuesday at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, where reigning world champions Germany host Brazil in an international friendly match. Brazil might not regard this match as a friendly, though, because the last time they met Germany they got hammered 7-1 in front of their own fans at the 2014 World Cup. Moreover, Brazil have not won against Germany since the 2005 Confederations Cup. Germany have won the last two direct matches against Brazil. Defending world champions Germany had to go through qualifying like everybody else in order to reach next summer's World Cup in Russia, but they made quick work of it: ten wins out of ten matches, 43 goals scored and just 4 conceded. However, the Germans were unable to win any of the three friendly matches that they played after the qualification campaign: 0-0 in England, 2-2 against France and 1-1 against Spain last week. Emre Can, Thomas Muller and Mesut Ozil were withdrawn from the squad due to injury concerns. Brazil have something to prove to their fans after the shameful exit that they endured at the 2014 World Cup, they need to bring the trophy home from Russia to be forgiven.
