South Korean authorities are making examples of television personalities to combat online gambling.
A local publication reported that TV star Lee Soo-geun pled guilty to illegal online gambling activity and Tak Jae-hoon and Tony An, also TV stars, are being investigated for the same charges.
Lee Soo Geun is accused of wagering billions of Korean won on sports via mobile gaming sites.
Lee Soo-geun's agency SM C&C said that he will take time out from TV to "reflect on self-restraint."
Korean media companies do not look kindly upon celebrity legal troubles and typically opt to suspend public appearances.
