LaLiga: Real Madrid vs Real Valladolid preview
Real Madrid have replaced their head coach but now they have to change their results as well, their revival is supposed to start on Saturday when they host Real Valladolid at Santiago Bernabeu. Last season Real Valladolid managed to hold Real Madrid to a draw at home, but they lost 4-0 in the Spanish capital as Gareth Bale bagged a hat-trick. Real Madrid have won five of the last six direct matches, scoring three or more goals in each of those victories. Real Valladolid have last won against Real Madrid back in 2008, while their last victory at Santiago Bernabeu was in 2000. Real Madrid have sacked head coach Julen Lopetegui on Monday after just four and a half months in charge, now interim boss Santiago Solari wants to prove that he might deserve the job on a permanent basis. His reign started with a 4-1 victory at third-tier side Melilla in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday, but that victory won't make the fans forget the 5-1 thrashing at the hands of rivals Barcelona last weekend. Marcelo picked up an injury in the derby and will be out until the end of November, while Jesus Vallejo, Daniel Carvajal and Raphael Varane are also unavailable through injury. Real Valladolid seem to be enjoying themselves this season, they are unbeaten in their last seven matches in all competitions and have lost just two of their ten league matches since the start of the season. In fact, they are in sixth place in the league table at the moment, two points ahead of the mighty Real Madrid. Last weekend they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by fifth-placed Espanyol, while this week they won 2-1 at Mallorca in the Spanish Cup. Keko is injured and won't be able to play in Saturday's match, but Duje Cop and Ivi do have a chance of playing. Probable line-ups: Madrid: Courtois - Odriozola, Casemiro, Ramos, Nacho - Modric, Kroos, Isco - Bale, Benzema, Asensio Valladolid: Masip - Moyano, Olivas, Calero, Nacho - Verde, Michel, Alcaraz, T. Suarez - Unal, Leo Suarez My prediction: Real Madrid to win 1-0, the Blancos should have a positive reaction to the managerial change.
