Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has dismissed recent speculation regarding a possible move to Spanish giants Real Madrid, the Brazilian forward insists he will remain at PSG at least until the end of his contract. Real Madrid have recently sold their star forward as Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Juventus for 100 million euros and the Blancos are believed to be looking for a high-profile move to fill the void. The Brazilian star has been a part of his national team at the 2018 World Cup, where they lost in the quarter-finals against Belgium.
"I'll stay. I have a contract with PSG and I've chosen to be there for the challenge, for new things and higher goals," Neymar said in a television interview. "I won't change my mind about it. I hope we can have a successful season, with new silverware, too. The press enjoys creating rumours, but everyone knows how much I care about PSG." The Brazilian star didn't have his dream fulfilled at the World Cup, but team-mate Kylian Mbappe has seen his dream come true as he became world champion with France at the age of 19.
"He's a phenomenon, a great player," Neymar said about Mbappe. "We knew that for a while, I am with him on a daily basis and know just how much quality he has. I'm very happy for him for the World Cup, for the title. I believe he can also fight to be one of the best players in the world in the next few years. It'll be nice to meet him again, we've been talking daily, even during the World Cup." PSG have a new manager starting this season, former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel, and a new first-choice goalkeeper as legendary Italian goalie Gianluigi Buffon joined from Juventus.
Paris Saint-Germain are now 13/2 at Bet365 to win the Champions League next season.
