Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has committed his future to the club by signing a new three-year contract worth 110,000 pounds per week. Liverpool confirmed the deal on Wednesday evening. The 28-year-old midfielder has become an important part of the team under German manager Jurgen Klopp, making 27 appearances and scoring seven goals this season. His previous contract was going to expire in two years, the deal was signed when Lallana joined from Southampton for 25 million pounds in 2014.
"I'm very proud and feel quite humbled by the show of faith from the club and the manager in particular," Lallana said after signing the new contract. "Signing for a club like Liverpool is obviously a big thing - but to re-sign shows you've obviously contributed enough that the people who make the decisions want you to stay longer. "This is a really good place to be at the moment and, for a player who wants to be part of something special, I can't think of a better club to commit your future to. We have a brilliant squad of players who are only going to get better the longer we are together. We have a world-class manager and coaching staff."
Adam Lallana has scored 20 goals in 117 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool, while at Southampton he had scored 48 goals in 235 Premier League appearances. He is an England international since 2013 and has scored three goals in 29 international appearances since then. Liverpool meet defending champions Leicester next Monday at the King Power Stadium, and Adam Lallana is 7/4 at Bet365 to score a goal in that match and 6/1 to be the first goal scorer of the game.
