Premier League: Alan Pardew remains in charge at West Brom

West Bromwich Albion have decided to keep manager Alan Pardew in charge, despite last weekend's 2-1 defeat at home against Huddersfield. On Saturday the Baggies face Watford at Vicarage Road and it seems that a good result there might rescue Pardew's job, while another defeat might lead to his sacking. Alan Pardew has taken over West Brom in November but has only managed to win one of their following fourteen Premier League matches. The Baggies are now at the bottom of the Premier League table, seven points away from safety with ten matches remaining in the season. Last weekend West Brom lost 2-1 at home against Huddersfield as Rajiv van La Parra and Steve Mounie scored after the break to put the visitors ahead. That was the fifth consecutive defeat in all competitions for West Brom, they also lost 2-1 at home to Southampton in the FA Cup. They have won just three of their 28 Premier League matches so far this season and lost fourteen matches. However, club owner Guochuan Lai is not willing to change managers once again after having dismissed Tony Pulis earlier this season. Some of the fans have already turned against Alan Pardew, there was plenty of booing to be heard during Saturday's home defeat against Huddersfield, but the club also have to consider that not too many quality managers would be willing to take over the club in such a poor position. Tony Pulis had been in charge at The Hawthorns since January 2015, when he replaced Alan Irvine, and led the Baggies to a very good tenth-place finish in the Premier League last season. Marco Silva is the top favourite to become the new manager at West Bromwich Albion, he is 1/1 at PaddyPower to get the job while Harry Redknapp is 5/1 to replace Alan Pardew.
