Arsenal will be looking to snap out of a losing streak when they face West Bromwich Albion at the Emirates Stadium on Boxing Day. The Gunners have beaten West Brom 2-0 at home last season, but they lost 2-1 away. Overall, Arsenal have won four of the last six direct meetings and lost just one. The Baggies have not beaten Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium since 2010.
A great start to the season came to an end in just a few days for Arsene Wenger and his men as they lost consecutive games to Everton and Manchester City. The Gunners have dropped to fourth place and Chelsea are now nine points away, any further slip-up could see Arsenal lose touch with the title chase. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is the latest name added to an already long injured list, along with the likes of Santi Cazorla and Shkodran Mustafi. Danny Welbeck is back in training but he will have to wait for a chance to play.
West Brom have lost two of their last three Premier League matches, but those defeats were against Chelsea and Manchester United. They are still sitting quite comfortably in eighth place. Goalkeeper Boaz Myhill is still injured, but Jonny Evans could return after having missed the last couple of matches. James Morrison has not trained this week due to illness and will most likely sit this one out.
Probable line-ups:
Arsenal: Cech - Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal - Coquelin, Elneny - Walcott, Ozil, Iwobi - Sanchez
West Brom: Foster - Dawson, McAuley, Olsson, Nyom - Fletcher, Yacob - Brunt, Chadli, Phillips - Rondon
My prediction: Arsenal to win 2-1.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
Arsenal win - 1.33
Draw - 5.25
West Brom win - 9.00
