West Ham United are looking to extend their unbeaten streak to five games in all competitions when they visit Brighton at Amex Stadium on Friday. Last season the Seagulls defeated the Hammers in both Premier League meetings, 3-1 at home and 3-0 in London but eventually West Ham managed to finish two places higher than Brighton in the league table. Overall, West Ham United have won three of the last six direct matches, but Brighton have won the last two. There haven't been many draws recorded between these two sides lately, just one in the last sixteen matches.
Brighton have lost their second consecutive match last weekend, 2-0 at champions Manchester City, and are still looking for their second victory of the season. They have not won a match since the surprising 3-2 victory over Manchester United in the middle of August, since then they crashed out of the League Cup and only managed to collect two points in five Premier League matches. Pascal Gross is still out of contention due to an ankle injury, but Dale Stephens should return to action after having missed last weekend's match. Striker Florin Andone is lacking match fitness, but he might be ready for some action from the bench.
West Ham United have recovered from a poor start to the season and now they seem capable of beating any team in the league. Last weekend they hammered Manchester United 3-1 in London with goals from Felipe Anderson and Marko Arnautovic, just three days after having recorded an impressive 8-0 victory over Macclesfield in the League Cup. The Hammers have won two of their last three league matches, and the other was a creditable goalless draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Manuel Lanzini, Andy Carroll, Jack Wilshere, Carlos Sanchez and Winston Reid remain injured for the away side.

West Ham: Fabianski - Zabaleta, Balbuena, Diop, Masuaku - Noble, Rice, Obiang - Yarmolenko, Arnautovic, Anderson
My prediction: West Ham to win 2-1, the Hammers have been quite impressive lately.

West Ham have been quite good in some of their previous matches (even when they've lost them) so I've expected a positive result for them in this one..but Brighton...
West Ham have been quite good in some of their previous matches (even when they've lost them) so I've expected a positive result for them in this one..but Brighton are tough team to play against- especially at home and this result probably shouldn't be considered as a too much of an upset, they could beat even better teams than the Hammers especially with the home advantage.
