Premier League: Burnley vs Liverpool preview

Premier League leaders Liverpool are looking to extend their perfect record into the fourth match of the season, but it might not be that simple as they visit Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday. Last season Liverpool won 3-1 at Burnley and then also defeated the Clarets 4-2 at Anfield, with Roberto Firmino on the score sheet in both games. The Reds have won four of the last six direct matches, but Burnley have defeated them 2-0 at Turf Moor in 2016.

Burnley had a perfect start to the season as they defeated Southampton 3-0 at home in the opening match, but things went from bad to worse from that moment on. In the following match they lost 2-1 at Arsenal and then snatched a 1-1 draw at Wolverhampton before suffering a 3-1 home defeat in the League Cup this week. Danny Drinkwater made his debut for the Clarets in that match, but he didn't impress and will most likely be left out of the starting eleven at the weekend. Steven Defour and Johann Gudmundsson are expected to miss out due to injuries.

Liverpool are the only Premier League team to have won all their three matches so far, but there are reasons for manager Jurgen Klopp to worry as the Reds conceded a goal in each of the three matches. Last weekend Liverpool secured a fine 3-1 victory over Arsenal at Anfield, their win was never in doubt as they led 3-0 and the Gunners scored a late consolation goal. Alisson and Nathaniel Clyne remain sidelined by their injuries, Dejan Lovren is lacking match fitness, while Naby Keita might need a bit more time to get ready for a full match.

Probable line-ups:

Burnley: Pope - Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Pieters - Hendrick, Cork, Westwood, McNeil - Barnes, Wood

Liverpool: Adrian - Gomez, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson - Milner, Fabinho, Henderson - Salah, Firmino, Mane

My prediction:

Burnley are strong at home, but Liverpool are looking extremely dangerous in attack and I believe the Reds will grab another win, most likely 3-1.
