Chelsea will be looking to extend their four-game Premier League winning streak when they host Everton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. However, last season Chelsea were unable to beat Everton in any of their three direct encounters, losing two of them and drawing 3-3 at home in the Premier League. Chelsea have won three of their last league matches against Everton, while the Toffees clinched two wins.
Chelsea are doing a much better job in the league compared to the start of the season, they have won their last four matches and are just one point behind the leading trio of Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal. Last weekend they won 2-0 at Southampton, with last season's disappointment Eden Hazard on the scoresheet. Marco van Ginkel and Kurt Zouma have recovered from their injuries but might not yet be ready for first-team action.
Everton have managed to snap out of a five-game winless streak last weekend with a 2-0 home victory over West Ham. They are just four points behind Chelsea in the league table, so their ambitions of challenging for a European spot will be tested in this game. Manager Ronald Koeman has quite a few injury worries though, as Muhamed Besic, Tyias Browning, Matthew Pennington and James McCarthy are all out of contention, while Idrissa Gueye is suspended. Maarten Stekelenburg, Arouna Kone and Leighton Baines are injury doubts ahead of Saturday's match.
Probable line-ups:
Chelsea: Courtois - Azpilicueta, Luiz, Cahill - Moses, Matic, Kante, Alonso - Pedro, Costa, Hazard
Everton: Stekelenburg - Jagielka, Williams, Funes Mori - Coleman, Cleverley, Barry, Oviedo - Bolasie, Lukaku, Deulofeu
My prediction: 1-1 draw.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
Chelsea win - 1.53
Draw - 4.33
Everton win - 7.00
