Premier League: Chelsea vs Newcastle preview

Chelsea are looking to extend their winning streak in all competitions to five matches when they host Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge in London on Saturday. Last season the Blues won both Premier League matches against Newcastle with the same score line, 2-1, and with Real Madrid star Eden Hazard playing a key part in both matches. Overall, Chelsea have won five of the last six matches against Newcastle in all competitions, while the Magpies have not won at Stamford Bridge since 2012.

Chelsea have been in very good form before the international break, they collected four consecutive wins in all competitions after the 2-1 home defeat against leaders Liverpool on September 22, and moved up to fifth place in the Premier League table. Their last result before the international break was an impressive 4-1 victory at Southampton, with goals from Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, N'Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi. N'Golo Kante suffered an injury while on international duty with France and won't be in the squad for this match, along with Andreas Christensen, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Emerson. Antonio Rudiger and Mateo Kovacic are injury doubts.

Newcastle United have won just two of their eight Premier League matches so far this season, but they did well to end a five-game winless streak in all competitions with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United before the international break. That match came after two games without scoring for the Magpies, they scored more than one goal in a match just once this season. Isaac Hayden is suspended for the visitors, while Florian Lejeune and Matt Ritchie are injured.

Probable line-ups:

Chelsea: Arrizabalaga - Azpilicueta, Zouma, Tomori, Alonso - Kovacic, Jorginho, Mount - Willian, Abraham, Hudson-Odoi

Newcastle: Dubravka - Yedlin, Schar, Lascelles, Clark, Willems - Almiron, S. Longstaff, M. Longstaff, Saint-Maximin - Joelinton

My prediction:

Chelsea are looking better and better with each match, their attacking prowess is quite impressive and I think they will grab a 2-0 victory in this match.
