Chelsea are looking to get back to winning ways and struggling Swansea seem a perfect target as the two teams meet at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday. Last season the Swans pulled off a 2-2 draw at the Liberty Stadium against Chelsea but lost 3-1 in the reverse fixture. Moreover, Swansea have not won at Stamford Bridge since 2013, when they secured a 2-0 victory in the League Cup. Chelsea have won three of the last six meetings against Swansea and lost just once.
Chelsea secured a 1-1 draw at Anfield Road last weekend but they needed a late goal from Willian to avoid defeat against Liverpool. That result stopped their four-game winning streak in the Premier League, they remain third in the league table but leaders Manchester City are now eleven points away. Victor Moses has recovered from injury and had a seat on the bench against Liverpool, so he might feature against Swansea, while Michy Batshuayi remains sidelined for now. Manager Antonio Conte might be tempted to rest a few of his players against what is, at least on paper, a weaker opponent.
Swansea are in deep trouble, they have not won a match since October 14 and have secured just two Premier League wins all season. Last weekend they recorded a goalless draw at home against Bournemouth, a result which marked their third consecutive league match without scoring and their sixth match in a row in all competitions without a win. However, it did stop a five-match losing streak. Kyle Bartley is the only injury concern for the visitors, while Federico Fernandez might not be able to play because his father has just passed away.
Probable line-ups:
Chelsea: Courtois - Azpilicueta, Luiz, Cahill - Moses, Fabregas, Kante, Alonso - Willian, Pedro - Morata
Swansea: Fabianski - Naughton, Mowson, Hoorn, Olsson - Ki Sung-yueng, Fer, Clucas - Sanches - Ayew, Bony
My prediction: Chelsea to win 2-0.
