Struggling Crystal Palace will be looking to fight their way out of the slump when they face defending Premier League champions Chelsea at Selhurst Park on Saturday. Last season the Blues won this fixture 1-0, but the Eagles pulled off a remarkable upset at Stamford Bridge, they won that game 2-1 when Chelsea were pretty much dominating the league. Crystal Palace won at Stamford Bridge two seasons ago as well, but the last time they beat Chelsea at Selhurst Park was in 2014.
The start of the Premier League season for Crystal Palace is beyond terrible, they have lost all their seven matches and haven't scored a single goal. They sacked manager Frank de Broer and brought in experienced boss Roy Hodgson, but the results are still terrible. They lost their last two matches quite clearly, 5-0 at Manchester City and 4-0 at Manchester United, but the international break might have given them the time they needed to sort themselves out. Christian Benteke and Connor Wickham are still sidelined, but Wilfried Zaha could return to action along with Scott Dann and James Tomkins.
Chelsea seemed to be back on track after the opening day defeat against Burnley, they put together an eight-match unbeaten streak in all competitions but that came to an end before the international break as they lost 1-0 at Stamford Bridge against a superior Manchester City. They also lost striker Alvaro Morata to injury in that match and it could be an important loss as the Spaniard had scored half of their Premier League goals this season. N'Golo Kante picked up a knock during the international break and is a doubt for Saturday's match, but David Luiz will be back after having served his suspension.
Probable line-ups:
Crystal Palace: Hennessey - Fosu-Mensah, Dann, Sakho, Van Aanholt - Milivojevic, Cabaye - Townsend, Puncheon, Zaha - Sako
Chelsea: Courtois - Azpilicueta, Luiz, Cahill - Moses, Bakayoko, Fabregas, Alonso - Pedro, Hazard - Batshuayi
My prediction: Chelsea to win 2-0.
