Everton are hoping to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League to five games when they host struggling Crystal Palace at Goodison Park on Saturday. The reverse fixture was played in August and it ended goalless, the second consecutive 0-0 draw between these two sides. Overall, Everton have won three of the last six direct matches and the other three were draws. Crystal Palace have not defeated the Toffees since 2014.
Everton have done quite well since the appointment of new boss Carlo Ancelotti, they lost just one of their seven Premier League matches with the new manager and won four. Last week they pulled off an impressive fightback at Watford, they were 2-0 down after 42 minutes but managed to win the match 3-2 with two goals from Yerry Mina and one from Theo Walcott. That result allowed the Toffees to move up to ninth place in the league table, just three points behind sixth-placed Sheffield United. Fabian Delph was sent off in the Watford game and is now suspended, while Jean-Philippe Gbamin is still out injured.
Crystal Palace are going through a rather difficult period, they have won just one of their last eleven matches in all competitions and have lost their last two Premier League games, both at home. Last week they got beaten 1-0 by Sheffield United, a result which dropped them to 14th place, just six points clear of the relegation zone. However, they are just three points behind Everton, so a good result here could maybe lead them back on a streak that would put them in the top half of the table. Cenk Tosun, Mamadou Sakho and Jeffrey Schlupp are all out injured.
Probable line-ups:
Everton: Pickford - Sidibe, Mina, Holgate, Digne - Walcott, Sigurdsson, Schneiderlin, Iwobi - Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin
Crystal Palace: Guaita - Ward, Tomkins, Cahill, Van Aanholt - Ayew, Kouyate, Milivojevic, McArthur, Zaha - Benteke
My prediction:
Everton are in much better shape ahead of this match and I think they will secure a 3-1 win.
Here are the odds for the match at NetBet:
Everton win - 1.62
Draw - 3.80
Crystal Palace win - 6.00

I saw the second half of this one, Everton have been 1 up but Palace played well in that and not only managed to equalize but even had more than decent opportunities to take the lead, but instead when they've been all over the home side the first time Everton have passed the midfield for around 10minutes ended in a goal. So not exactly a great Toffees performance and Palace should deeply regret they left Liverpool empty handed.
