Premier League: Everton vs West Ham preview

Premier League: Everton vs West Ham preview

Everton are looking to interrupt a string of four consecutive Premier League defeats when they host West Ham United at Goodison Park on Saturday. Last season West Ham grabbed a 3-1 victory at Everton, but the Toffees got revenge in London with a 2-0 win. Overall, Everton have won three of the last six direct matches and two of the last three meetings against West Ham United at Goodison Park.

Everton are in big trouble already, they have lost five of their eight Premier League matches so far this season, including the last four, and are sitting in the relegation zone at the moment. That is not what the fans and the board were expecting, and head coach Marco Silva is under a lot of pressure to turn things around right away. Before the international break the Toffees lost 1-0 at Burnley. Seamus Coleman is suspended for Saturday's match, while Theo Walcott and Fabian Delph are injury doubts.

West Ham United seem to be on the right path this season, even thoug they lost 2-1 at home against Crystal Palace before the international break. They have lost just two of their eight Premier League matches so far this season and have won three, sitting in eighth place at the moment. However, the Hammers have not won a match since September 22, when they defeated Manchester United 2-0 in London. Michail Antonio and goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski are injured, while Robert Snodgrass is a doubt.

Probable line-ups:

Everton: Pickford - Sidibe, Keane, Holgate, Digne - Schneiderlin, Gomes - Richarlison, Sigurdsson, Iwobi - Calvert-Lewin

West Ham: Jimenez - Fredericks, Ogbonna, Diop, Cresswell - Yarmolenko, Lanzini, Rice, Noble, Anderson - Haller

My prediction:

West Ham are unbeaten away from home this season, with three draws in four matches, and it is quite likely to see that streak continue with yet another draw. However, Everton might have sorted some things out during the international break, they have quality players and I think they can win 2-1.

Here are the odds for the match at NetBet

Everton win - 1.95

West Ham win - 3.75
