Arsenal will be looking to end a six-game victory drought in away league matches as they visit last-placed Huddersfield at Kirklees Stadium on Saturday. The Gunners had a pretty tough time in the reverse fixture in December, they only won it 1-0 thanks to a late goal from midfielder Lucas Torreira. That was the fourth consecutive win for Arsenal against Huddersfield in all competitions and the fifth in the last six direct matches. The last time Huddersfield managed to beat Arsenal was all the way back in 1971, when the Tigers secured a 2-1 league victory.
Huddersfield don't seem capable of surviving another season in the Premier League, they have not scored any goals in the last five matches in all competitions and have not won a match since November.
New manager Jan Siewert was unable to lead the team to better results, his reign started with a 1-0 home defeat against Everton and continued with a 5-0 thumping at Chelsea last weekend. They are thirteen points away from safety now, so they need something very close to a miracle to avoid relegation. Abdelhamid Sabiri and Danny Williams are injured and won't be available for this match.
Arsenal poor away form continued with a 3-1 defeat at Manchester City last weekend, the third consecutive away loss in the Premier League for the Gunners. That result dropped them to sixth place, one point behind Manchester United, and it raised some serious questions about the team's ability to play against the best sides in the league. The Gunners have won just four of their twelve away matches in the Premier League this season, less than Leicester and Wolves. Rob Holding and Sokratis Papasthatopoulos are out injured and Shkodran Mustafi is a doubt, so we could see Konstantinos Mavropanos alongside Laurent Koscielny in defence. Granit Xhaka, Hector Bellerin and Danny Welbeck are also sidelined for Arsenal.
Probable line-ups:
Huddersfield: Lossl - Smith, Zanka, Schindler, Kongolo - Billing, Bacuna, Mooy - Kachunga, Mounie, Diakhaby
Arsenal: Leno - Lichtsteiner, Koscielny, Mavropanos, Monreal - Suarez, Torreira, Guendouzi - Ramsey - Lacazette, Aubameyang
My prediction: Arsenal to win 2-1, Huddersfield should finally be able to score but they will most likely lose again.
