League leaders Manchester City are looking to extend their unbeaten run when they travel to meet Huddersfield at Kirklees Stadium on Sunday. The two teams have met in the FA Cup last season and Huddersfield gave Manchester City a run for their money, they recorded a goalless draw at home and forced a replay at the Etihad Stadium, which the Citizens eventually won 5-1. In the 1999-2000 season the two teams met in the Championship and Huddersfield won 1-0 at Man City before a 1-1 home draw.
Huddersfield are doing well so far this season, they have won four of their twelve Premier League matches and sit comfortably in tenth place. Their home record is nearly perfect, they lost just one match in front of their home fans (4-0 against Tottenham). Moreover, they have defeated Manchester United 2-1 at Kirklees Stadium but last weekend they lost 4-0 at Bournemouth. Defender Christopher Schindler missed the last match but he should return to the starting line-up on Sunday.
Manchester City are still undefeated this season, they have won 11 of the 12 Premier League matches and scored 40 goals. Last weekend they secured a 2-0 victory at Leicester in the Premier League, and a few days later they won 1-0 at Feyenoord to extend their 100% record in the Champions League group stage. Nicolas Otamendi was suspended last weekend and he should return to action on Sunday, but John Stones and Benjamin Mendy are injured and will miss out.
Probable line-ups:
Huddersfield: Lossl - Smith, Zanka, Schindler, Lowe - Hogg, Mooy - Kachunga, Ince, Parra - Mounie
Man City: Ederson - Walker, Kompany, Otamendi, Delph - De Bruyne, Fernandinho, D. Silva - Sterling, Jesus, Sane
My prediction: Manchester City to win 2-1.
