Premier League: Joe Hart set to leave Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has spoken about his club's transfers this summer during a news conference and the Spanish boss insisted that Joe Hart doesn't have a place in his plans. The goalkeeper was sent out on loan at Torino and West Ham after Pep Guardiola took charge at the Etihad Stadium and now he has just one year left on his contract with the Citizens. The loan spells didn't go as well as Hart would have hoped, so neither Torino or West Ham desired to make the move permanent. Joe Hart, now aged 31, would be third choice behind Ederson and Claudio Bravo if he remains at Manchester City. "Joe is our player. I know it is not easy for him," said Guardiola. "We will try and find a solution." So far there haven't been any concrete offers for Hart this summer, the transfer window will close on August 9 but he could still move to a foreign club until August 31. The Citizens have not made too many moves on the transfer market this summer, the only major names moving clubs were Yaya Toure, who left Man City, and Ryiad Mahrez who joined them from Leicester City for 60 million pounds. Napoli midfielder Jorginho was also set to join City, but in the end chose to follow manager Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea. "I am not disappointed," Guardiola said about Jorginho's decision. "English football has signed an exceptional player. We tried but my advice always is that players should go where they want. It would have been a mistake if he'd come here when he wanted to go to Maurizio and Chelsea." The Man City manager is still looking for a central midfielder to replace Yaya Toure after the Jorginho move fell through, but admitted that he might have to settle for what he has in his squad if he won't manage to find the right player. Fabian Delph, Ilkay Gundogan and Danilo can all be options for the central midfield position, even though all three can also cover other roles.
