Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has expressed his frustration at the lack of transfers at the club during the current summer transfer window. The Portuguese boss revealed after the Europa League final on May 24 that he had given executive chairman Ed Woodward a list of players that he wants at the club. So far, the Red Devils only managed to complete one transfer this summer as Swedish defender Victor Lindelof was signed from Benfica for 31 million pounds.
Manchester United have lost Zlatan Ibrahimovic as his contract was not extended due to an injury, so most likely Jose Mourinho wants a new striker to replace the Swedish forward. The Red Devils have tried to make an approach for Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann earlier this summer and it was reported that they were willing to spend close to the world record fee they had paid for Paul Pogba, which was 89 million pounds. The deal fell through as Griezmann decided to stay at Atletico Madrid after they were banned from signing new players this summer.
Everton striker Romelu Lukaku and Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata are also thought to be on Mourinho's radar, but so far there is no news about a potential deal for either of the two. Alvaro Morata seems a more realistic target as Lukaku is believed to prefer a move back to Chelsea. Moreover, it seemed that the Red Devils had agreed the transfer of Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic, but the Blues are not willing to release the Serbian player before they secure the transfer of Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.
