Leicester City have decided to sack manager Craig Shakespeare after just four months in charge following the team's unconvincing start to the season. The Foxes have failed to win any of their last six league matches and are currently in the Premier League relegation zone. On Monday evening Leicester hosted West Bromwich Albion at the King Power Stadium and grabbed a 1-1 draw thanks to a late goal from Ryiad Mahrez. The last time the Foxes went six league matches without a win was last season, when Claudio Ranieri was sacked just nine months after having led them to a historic Premier League title.
Craig Shakespeare took charge on an interim basis after Ranieri's departure and led the team to eight victories in sixteen Premier League matches and also reached the Champions League quarter-finals. The club were happy with his contribution, so they offered him a three-year contract this summer but after just three wins in ten matches in all competitions they decided to let him go. However, it might be worth mentioning that their four Premier League this season came against Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.
There are quite a few high-profile managers out of work at the moment and it is believed that the Leicester board will try to bring a big name at the helm. Carlo Ancelotti is available after being recently sacked by Bayern Munich, former England manager Sam Allardyce might be tempted to return to the Premier League, former Manchester United and Everton boss David Moyes is also available and former Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew is unemployed as well. Former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini might also want to return to England as he is currently managing Zenit St Petersburg in Russia.
Sam Allardyce is the favourite for the job according to the bookmakers, he is 7/2 at Bet365 to become the next Leicester City manager.
