Leicester City have broken their transfer record, they paid 40 million pounds to Monaco for central midfielder Youri Tielemans. The 22-year-old Belgium international signed a four-year contract with the Foxes. He is no stranger at the King Power Stadium after having spent the second half of last season on loan at Leicester, scoring three goals and providing four assists in 13 Premier League appearances. In fact, he was the last signing that former manager Claude Puel made at Leicester when he joined on loan in January.

"I really can't wait to get started again with this club," said Tielemans. "I believe that we have the talent in our squad to achieve something special and for any player, that's an exciting thing to be a part of." "I'm delighted that Youri has chosen to be part of Leicester City's journey," said Brendan Rodgers. "It's an incredibly exciting time for this football club and to be able to bring players of Youri's quality here is an indication of the hunger for success we have. He's already shown he's capable of making an impact in the Premier League and he adds another option to an incredibly talented group of players here."

Tielemans is the youngest Belgian to play in the Champions League, he was aged just 16 years and 148 days, when he featured for Anderlecht against Olympiakos in October 2013. Then he moved to Ligue 1 side Monaco for around 22 million pounds in 2017. scoring 6 tyimes in 65 games. He has 23 caps for Belgium and has played for his nation at the 2018 World Cup. He is the third signing of the summer for Leicester after Ayoze Perez from Newcastle and James Justin from Luton.
