Bournemouth have made an offer worth around 20 million pounds for Leicester City youngster Demarai Gray, but the Foxes turned down the bid. Gray appeared in 41 matches for Leicester City last season but he was mostly a fringe player at the club since he only started nine league games. The 21-year-old winger desires more opportunities to play in the first team and that is exactly what Bournemouth would offer, even though he might also have better chances to play at Leicester as well next season.
Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare said he had a chat with the young winger and insisted he would be given more game time in the upcoming season. "Dimi's representatives came in to have a meeting with the director of football, I wasn't privy to that," Shakespeare said. "We've had conversations, myself and Dimi. It is well-documented. We have spoken about trying to give him more game-time and we are both happy with that." Gray had an impressive summer as he scored twice for England's Under-21s at the 2017 European Championship.
Leicester City have also rejected an offer from AS Roma for Riyad Mahrez at the end of July. The Foxes have signed four players so far this summer: central defender Harry Maguire from Hull City for 17 million pounds, defender Sam Hughes from Chester, experienced midfielder Vicente Iborra from Sevilla for 12.5 million pounds and goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic from Hull City. They are also very close to completing the transfer of Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho for 25 million pounds.
Leicester City are 6/1 at Bet365 to finish inside the Premier League top six next season.
