Claudio Ranieri's last two Premier League teams will clash on Saturday, Leicester City host Fulham at the King Power Stadium in a match that could worsen the relegation worries for the Cottagers. The reverse fixture ended 1-1, Aboubakar Kamara opened the scoring for Fulham in the first half and James Maddison netted the equalizer in the second half. That was the first Premier League match between these two teams since 2004. In the meantime they met twice in the FA Cup and twice in the League Cup, and overall Fulham won three of the last six matches while the Foxes won just one.
Leicester have appointed a new manager, Brendan Rodgers left Celtic to join the Foxes, and this will be his first game in charge. They have won just two of their last ten matches in all competitions, a string of results which dropped them to eleventh place in the league table and left manager Claude Puel without a job. Last week the Foxes lost 2-1 at Watford, but the performance was encouraging as they were denied by a stoppage-time goal. Jamie Vardy scored for the Foxes in that match but also picked up a knock and might miss Saturday's game, along with Daniel Amartey and Marc Albrighton.
Fulham are in very deep trouble, they have dismissed two managers this season but things just can't seem to work for them. Former midfielder Scott Parker is in charge as a caretaker manager for now and his reign started with a 2-1 home defeat against Chelsea last week. The performance was encouraging for the Cottagers but they really need some wins now because they are no less than ten points behind seventeenth-placed Southampton. Alfie Mawson and Marcus Bettinelli are injured and won't be in the squad that travels to Leicester, while winger Andre Schurrle is lacking match fitness and might have to settle for a place on the bench.
Probable line-ups:
Leicester: Schmeichel - Pereira, Evans, Maguire, Chilwell - Tielemans, Ndidi, Mendy - Maddison, Gray, Barnes
Fulham: Rico - Odoi, Nordtveit, Ream, Bryan - Chambers, McDonald - Babel, Cairney, Sessegnon - Mitrovic
My prediction: Leicester to win 2-1, Fulham will probably fight bravely but they are pretty much doomed this season.
