Leicester and Liverpool meet for the second time this week, they clash on Saturday in the Premier League at the King Power Stadium after having met on Tuesday in the League Cup. Okazaki and Slimani scored for Leicester in a 2-0 victory in the League Cup, but Liverpool rested quite a few of their first-team regulars. Last season Leicester beat Liverpool 3-1 at home but lost 4-1 at Anfield Road. Liverpool have not won at Leicester since 2014, while the last four direct meetings produced two or more goals per game.
Leicester have been struggling in the Premier League this season, they have won just a single match and lost three out of five, but their League Cup campaign looks promising after they knocked out Liverpool earlier this week. Last weekend they secured a 1-1 draw at newly-promoted Huddersfield. Matty James is still injured, but Christian Fuchs should be ready to play again after having picked up a knock. Jamie Vardy is struggling with a muscle injury and did not play in the League Cup on Tuesday.
Just like last season, Liverpool are producing both impressive performances and disappointing ones within just a few days. They have qualified for the Champions League group stage but started with a 2-2 home draw against Sevilla, they beat Arsenal 4-0 but the next weekend they got thrashed 5-0 at Manchester City. Last weekend they were held to a 1-1 home draw by Burnley. Sadio Mane serves the last of his three-match ban, while Nathaniel Clyne, Adam Bogdan and Adam Lallana are still injured.
Probable line-ups:
Leicester: Schmeichel - Simpson, Morgan, Maguire, Fuchs - Mahrez, Ndidi, King, Albrighton - Okazaki - Vardy
Liverpool: Mignolet - Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Lovren, Moreno - Can, Henderson, Wijnaldum - Salah, Firmino, Coutinho
My prediction: Liverpool to win 2-1.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
Leicester win - 4.00
Draw - 3.60
Liverpool win - 1.85
