Two sides looking to recover from League Cup heartbreak clash on Saturday as Leicester City host Manchester United at the King Power Stadium. At the start of the season Manchester United defeated Leicester 2-0 at Old Trafford in the reverse fixture, and that was the fourth consecutive win for the Red Devils over the Foxes in all competitions. Leicester have not beaten Manchester United since 2014.
Leicester played a solid League Cup match against Premier League leaders Manchester City earlier this week, Jamie Vardy scored deep into stoppage time to send the game into extra time but eventually the Foxes lost the penalty shoot-out. That result comes after another heartbreak as their four-game winning streak came to an abrupt end last weekend as they lost 3-0 at home against Crystal Palace. Matty James and Robert Huth remain the only injury concerns for the home side.
Manchester United were the victims of the biggest upset in recent League Cup history, they lost 2-1 at Championship side Bristol City on Wednesday. That was their second defeat in the last four matches in all competitions and another important fact is that the Red Devils conceded goals in six of their last seven matches. Ashley Young, Juan Mata, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Nemanja Matic were rested in midweek and they should return to the starting eleven on Saturday.
Probable line-ups:
Leicester: Schmeichel - Simpson, Morgan, Maguire, Chilwell - Albrighton, Ndidi, Iborra, Gray - Mahrez - Vardy
Man United: De Gea - Young, Jones, Smalling, Blind - Matic, Pogba - Mata, Lingard, Rashford - Lukaku
My prediction: 1-1 draw.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
Leicester win - 4.20
Draw - 3.60
Man United win - 1.83
