Premier League: Leicester vs West Ham preview

Premier League: Leicester vs West Ham preview

Leicester are hoping to build another winning streak in the Premier League to make their place in the top four more secure, and that streak could start with Wednesday's match against West Ham United at King Power Stadium. The Foxes won the reverse fixture 2-1 in December with goals from Kelechi Iheanacho and Demarai Gray. Overall, Leicester have won two of the last six direct matches, both away from home, and West Ham won just one, also away from home.

Leicester have now lost their last two matches in the Premier League and what hurts them the most is that they lost against teams in the lower half of the table. First they got beaten 2-1 at home by Southampton and last week they suffered a 2-1 loss at Burnley. Those results dropped them to third place but they are still eleven points clear of fifth-placed Manchester City. Now the Foxes need to get back in shape and start collecting points again, otherwise they might see their top-four dream fade away in the second half of he season. Daniel Amartey is injured for the home side, while Matty James and Wilfred Ndidi are doubts.

West Ham are hoping to build a better future under new manager David Moyes, but so far they only seem to continue the inconsistent form that got the previous boss sacked. Moyes started his tenure with a fine 4-0 victory over Bournemouth in the Premier League, but then the Hammers lost 1-0 at Sheffield United and got a 1-1 draw at home against Everton last weekend. Lukasz Fabianski, Ryan Fredericks, Jack Wilshere and Andriy Yarmolenko are still out injured for West Ham, while Felipe Anderson and Michail Antonio are both doubts.

Probable line-ups:

Leicester: Schmeichel - Pereira, Evans, Soyuncu, Chilwell - Praet, Choudhury, Tielemans - Perez, Vardy, Maddison

West Ham: Randolph - Zabaleta, Diop, Ogbonna, Cresswell - Snodgrass, Rice, Noble, Masuaku - Lanzini - Haller

My prediction:

Leicester have enough quality and experience in their squad to snap out of the recent bad run, I think they will win this match 3-1.
