Liverpool have made a £9.5m offer for Udinese midfielder Piotr Zielinski, according to
Sky Sports sources. Jurgen Klopp is trying to add more quality and depth to his midfield, but Zielinski is also an option for the future. The Polish international has not featured in Sunday's 1-0 victory over Northern Ireland at Euro 2016. He spent the last two seasons on loan at Empoli and was also wanted by Serie A runners-up Napoli. However, it seems the player has discussed his future with Jurgen Klopp and decided to choose Liverpool.
"I negotiated for Zielinski with the Pozzo family and we finalised every detail," Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis said. "Instead it now seems as if the player is doing everything possible to resist the move and not come here. He wants Liverpool." Jurgen Klopp has already signed Red Star Belgrade midfielder Marko Grujic, Schalke centre-back Joel Matip and Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius this summer and it seems more players will be coming at Anfield soon.
Piotr Zielinski is just 22 years old and has represented Poland at every level, from Under 15 to the senior team. He has 15 caps and 3 goals for the Polish national team. He started his professional career at Udinese but only made 19 league appearances for the club before being loaned out to Empoli. He made 63 league appearances for Empoli and score 5 goals in the Serie A. Liverpool have sold young midfielder Jordan Rossiter to Glasgow Rangers earlier this summer.
Liverpool are 8/1 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title next season.
