Premier League: Liverpool reject Philippe Coutinho bid

Spanish giants have made an offer worth 90 million pounds for Liverpool forward Philippe Coutinho but the Reds turned down the bid and insisted the player is not for sale at any price. Coutinho had joined Liverpool from Inter Milan back in 2013 for just 8.5 million pounds. Barcelona are looking to spend some of the cash they received following the biggest transfer in the history of football, Neymar's move to Paris Saint-Germain was completed last week and it was worth a staggering 200 million pounds. Coutinho scored 14 goals for Liverpool last season, despite spending six weeks on the sidelines due to an ankle injury. In January he signed a new five-year contract with Liverpool and the deal does not include a release clause, so Liverpool can reject any incoming offers for the player. The Reds turned down another offer from Barcelona for the 25-year-old Brazilian in July, that time the offer was worth 72 million pounds and manager Jurgen Klopp insisted that he will not sell the player. "I'm not surprised that any club is interested in players," Klopp said. "But we want to make the next step together and for this we need to stay together. It's not that I need it but a few people obviously see that Liverpool have a few good players. So, that's how it is. But, a very important message - maybe we're not a selling club." Liverpool have signed winger Mohamed Salah for AS Roma for 34.3 million pounds and left-back Andy Robertson from Hull City for 10 million pounds but they have not sold any of their important players this summer.
