Two sides looking to find their tempo clash on Saturday evening in the Premier League as Liverpool host reigning champions Leicester City at Anfield Road. Last season Liverpool won the home game 1-0 while in Leicester the Foxes secured a 2-0 victory. Leicester have not won at Anfield Road since May 2000, when they triumphed 2-0. In fact, Liverpool lost just those two out of their last eleven matches against the Foxes.
Liverpool had an up and down start to the season, with one win, one draw and one defeat in the Premier League so far. Last time out they secured a 1-1 draw at Tottenham, not a bad result but the previous defeat at Burnley made their fans wonder about their team's ability to challenge for silverware this season. Sheyi Ojo and Ragnar Klavan are injured and will miss out, while Philippe Coutinho might start on the bench as he returns from international duty with Brazil on Friday.
Leicester needed three weeks before securing their first win of the season, that came before the international break and it was a 2-1 over Swansea. Before that they held Arsenal to a goalless draw as a slight consolation after the shocking defeat against Hull City on opening day. Islam Slimani, the most expensive player ever bought by the Foxes, will most likely make his debut this weekend, but Nampalys Mendy and Jeffrey Schlupp are injured. Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel might also miss out.
Probable line-ups:
Liverpool: Karius - Clyne, Lovren, Matip, Milner - Lallana, Henderson, Wijnaldum - Mane, Sturridge, Firmino
Leicester: Zieler - Simpson, Huth, Morgan, Fuchs - Mahrez, Amartey, Drinkwater, Albrighton - Slimani, Vardy
My prediction: Liverpool to win 2-1.
